Summer: A Season of Vitality & Expression
Summer is a season of full bloom. The earth pulses with life, and so do we. It’s a time to step into our radiance, honor what lights us up, and allow joy to lead the way.
Just as plants stretch toward the sun, we too are invited to expand—into our energy, creativity, and authentic self-expression.
🌼 Honoring the Energy of Summer
In Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, summer is associated with the element of fire—passion, transformation, and outward energy. It’s a natural time for connection, movement, and taking action on dreams planted in the quieter months.
But with all this brightness, it’s easy to burn out. That’s where seasonal awareness becomes medicine: not only living in sync with nature, but also honoring your own rhythms within it.
🌿 Herbal Allies for Summer
Summer herbs support the heart, calm the nerves, and keep us cool in both body and spirit.
Tulsi (Holy Basil): Uplifting and adaptogenic, great for clarity and emotional balance
Hibiscus: Cooling and vibrant—perfect as an iced tea for heart and skin health
Peppermint: Refreshes and energizes while soothing the digestive system
Rose: Softens the heart and supports emotional expression
Try making a solar-infused herbal tea by steeping your herbs in a jar under the sun—then sip slowly, allowing their wisdom to anchor you into the moment.
💫 Mindset Practices for the Season
Summer invites us to express ourselves, but that doesn’t always mean being loud. True expression is about living in alignment with what feels honest, alive, and nourishing to your spirit.
Journaling Prompt: What parts of myself feel ready to be seen and celebrated this season?
Affirmation: “I am radiant, present, and alive in this moment.”
Practice: Dance barefoot in the grass. Laugh freely. Share your story. Let play be part of your healing.
🌻 Summer Ritual: Embodying Vitality
Create a weekly ritual to recharge your energy and stay rooted. One of my favorites:
Brew a cooling herbal tea (peppermint + hibiscus is a favorite)
Light a candle or incense to mark sacred space
Reflect with the prompt: Where am I being called to expand with joy?
Follow it up with movement—whatever feels alive in your body
Let this be your reminder: you are allowed to shine.
